Three centuries of village life.

EARLY 18TH CENTURY

The Cossington Inn

Our story begins as the Cossington Inn, a thatched building at the heart of village life.

19TH CENTURY

From thatch to red tile

The thatch gave way to clay tiles during the boom in Bridgwater’s tile industry – the roof that would become our signature.

WARTIME LOCAL LEGEND

A landmark from the air

Local legend links our name to American pilots who used the roof as a landmark when flying in from the Bristol Channel.

A village local, through and through.

A place to share a meal, meet friends and make memories. The story continues around the table, in the skittle alley and beneath the walnut tree.

Food with local roots

Homecooked favourites, local produce and seasonal specials.

Room to celebrate

A function room for around 200 guests, plus 2 skittle alleys for gatherings and events.
